IT WAS A BUSY WEEK

We managed to get a lot accomplished this week but still have quite a bit to finish up…….next fall when we come back!!!!

Here are a couple more pictures:

We moved a lot of rock and will need to bring in a load next fall to freshen everything up.    We also have a huge cactus that has to be removed (that should be fun).  I still have the planting area in the back that has to be cleaned and trimmed.  We bought a leaf blower this week and I am hoping the temperature will drop down a little (it’s in the 90’s) so I can get the leaves cleaned up.  We also had the carpets cleaned this week……busy…busy…busy.

Everyone here is very friendly……we have a anniversary party to attend this evening where we will most definitely meet some more people.

That’s it for now……take care and love to all…..

ARRIVED IN HONDO

We received the call that we had been waiting for on Friday afternoon……..we had been released from our gate assignment.  We packed up and headed for Hondo, arriving around 4:30 p.m.  Got set up and headed into town for some dinner.

Saturday we got up early and went into San Antonio to do some shopping……we needed some gardening tools (as you will see soon), Jim needed to get wood to build his hobby table in the shed and we were looking for a small patio set.  It was a long day, leaving here around 9:00 a.m. and got back around 5:00 p.m.  But, we got everything we wanted to except the patio set….it seems to be difficult to find a small set….all they seem to carry are the large dining sets….so we are still on the hunt for that.

The lot we bought here in Hondo has more vegetation on it then we would like and we discovered that there was a lot of trimming to be done.  Here are a couple of photos of the bushes when we arrived:

Here are some photos after we trimmed them up:

Hondo 007   Hondo 008   Just a little difference and three truckloads of brush/leaves down to the burn pile!!!!

We have also cleaned the shed out.  There were (2) shelving units, one of which we are keeping, the other one Jim is taking part of it out in order to build his hobby work area.  And they also had carpet on the floor which we took out and will eventually put tile down.  All of that has to be taken to the dump Saturday morning.

I will send some photos after Jim finishes everything.

And this is what out lot looks like with us parked on it

We are very happy that we bought the lot, but I will tell you that I had forgotten how hard yard work can be!!!!!  But, hopefully now that we have everything trimmed up the maintenance will be much easier.

Take care and love to all

COUNTING DOWN

From what we have been told, they should be done with the flow-back by Saturday afternoon, start rigging down and moving equipment out.  If they stay on schedule, that means we should be able to leave here on Sunday and head over to Hondo for a couple of weeks.

I think Jim mentioned in an earlier blog that we have a lot of cattle on this site and there are times when they get a little too close to the trailer and we have to go out and move them back.  Most of the time they start moving the minute you start walking towards them but once in a while you will get one that will just turn around and stand his ground.

ANOTHER DAY……..ANOTHER DOLLAR

Well, they finished the frack on Sunday afternoon and started staging the equipment for the move to the next site and, on top of that, they started to come in for the coil tubing and flow back…….we had one hell of a day on Monday….391 people in and out.  It was so bad, I had a little “mini meltdown” and Jim had to take over for me for a little while!  All I wanted to do was to pack up and leave.  We definitely “earned” our money yesterday.  Today is busy, but not quite as chaotic……and we thought that after they were through fracking it would slow down a bit!!  We are not sure how long this phase will last but are ready to take a break and head to our lot in Hondo for a week or so…….

We are planning to be back in Illinois around the 14th of May.  Jim has scheduled appointments to see doctors for his spine and also his knees on the 16th of May.  We are pretty sure he will have surgery on his back and there is a good possibility that he will have to have his knees re-done…..which involves another complete replacement.  It should be an interesting summer…..but he should be a “new” man when it is all over.

That brings us up to date…….

Take care and love to all……..

JUST A LITTLE NOTE

We are still very busy……word is that they should be finished with the frac in another week……if they don’t have any problems.  Then they come in with the coil tubing and we are not sure how long that will take.

Weather is warm…..in fact today is suppose to reach 90 degrees….but Mariah (the wind) is still blowing strong!!!!! 4 days now!!!

Walker has been helping me make the bed in the morning.  Here is what it looks like when I do it:

And here is how Walker does it:

He seems to be adjusting to Indy being gone but you can tell he misses him, as do we all.  He will still wonder around looking for him.  I’m not sure how he is going to adapt to being an “only child”.

Take care…..love to all….
