Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

We have done this drive several times and always enjoy it. The scenery is amazing, the river is amazing. This is an area from where highway 97 in Washington crosses over the Columbia river to Portland, Oregon.

Not much I can say other than we think it is one of the most beautiful drives in the country.Columbria River Gorge 002Columbria River Gorge 011Columbria River Gorge 003Columbria River Gorge 004Columbria River Gorge 005Columbria River Gorge 017Columbria River Gorge 019Columbria River Gorge 026

We did the trip heading east going across the river into Washington and following HWY 14 down to Portland, than crossed back to the Oregon side and came back to the COE park where we were staying. The change in climate and moisture is amazing as you cross over the small mountain range separating the east from the west. You can see the fog and rainbow in a couple of the pictures. The east side is dry and almost a desert.

love to all of ya

Jim and Linda
